Vance: Heartwarming to see election results
Letter To The Editor

From Diana Vance

To the Editor:

What happened Tuesday when the election counts began and continued into the night, we saw all across this country the voters rejected the party of Donald Trump and instead produced an election which was a surprise and courageous. It was so heartwarming that people all across this nation voted for democracy when Donald Trump promised autocracy. I am so happy and proud of the majority of this country who voted for Democrats — which was quite unexpected — and gave some applause to President Joe Biden.

Yes, Joe Biden is our president and has been for the past two years. The only doubting came from Trump, who lied about who won. May Trump always be introduced as the big liar, and may this election get rid of QAnon and the Republicans who turned into liars themselves. They said they should invoke the 25th amendment against Trump one day after January 6th, then said he was a changed person. What was said by Trump to Kevin McCarthy makes no difference now. He showed his stripes by his transformation and there is no leadership coming from him. And for the minority who still want to cheat the election? Forget it!

As a proud Wisconsinite, congratulations to Governor Tony Evers. I was very relieved to see his name and his face show up as the winner. I went to bed hoping that Mandela Barnes won as well. And I will not let the Republicans in Wisconsin get away with the terrible, ridiculous ads they sent out about Miss Spicer. Every election they show how low they can get. I am sure there are good people in the Republican party — my dad was one. He’d be sick and disgusted with the GOP these days. That includes Speaker Robin Vos (R). I hope Vos speaks to Howard Marklein and urges him to take $1 million from the Rainy Day fund. I’ve heard Howard Marklein has used that money and not tax payer money to pay for the investigation into the 2020 election. Any one with a brain knows Trump lied big time. And he is doing it again. Sorry Donald, but I don’t think you have much clout any longer. This election was the writing on the wall. You and your party have nothing to cheer about. Attorney General Merrick Garland is a strong man and believes no one is above the law. No one, Donald.
