Brodhead, VFW Post 6858 Post Commander

To the Editor:

Over the past few weeks the members from the VFW Post 6858 in Brodhead have had the honor to hand out scholarships and citizenship awards to the area schools within our district, which include Albany, Brodhead, Juda and Parkview.

 The VFW “Citizenship Educational Award” is given to a 5th, 8th and 12th grade student that the school staff chooses and it is based on academics, leadership and promoting citizenship throughout the school year.

 The scholarship is given to a senior student that is attending a two tech school or a Wisconsin base short course.

 This year’s Citizenship awards were given to:

Albany Schools, 5th Carter Crain, 8th Piper Patchen, 12th grade Caleb Smith.

Brodhead Schools, 5th Rylee Helgestad, 8th Madalyn Stephenson and Sadie Woelkey, 12th grade Henry Droessler.

Juda schools, 5th Siera McCullough, 8th Kinberlynn Moon, 12th grade Maxwell Brooks.

Parkview schools, 5th Jake Ochoa, 8th John Grenawalt, 12th grade N/A  This years scholarships were awarded to:

Albany, Brynn Smith.

Brodhead, Kyla Miller.

Juda, Jayda Simpson.

Parkview, Katie Klassy.

 The VFW 6858 Post members want to congratulate all the award recipients and also to wish the best to all the students as they move on to the next level.
