To the Editor:

Please join me in voting YES for the 2024 School District of Monroe Operating Referendum.

We needed the $1.5 million dollars annually to be added to the tax levy when Cory Hirsbrunner was the Superintendent in 2016.  We also needed the same annual amount in 2018 when I was the Superintendent.  If you put $1.5 million in 2016 dollars into an inflation calculator, it would be $1.97 million dollars today.

The district has made cuts and they are not asking to increase the levy with this referendum.  Just under 70% of our community said YES the last time we made the request for the same amount of operating funds and I sincerely hope that the community will say YES once again.
