Letter to the Editor: It’s time for change
Letter To The Editor

From Margaret (Peg) Rasch

Town of Wiota

To the editor:

I am a disgruntled citizen. My elected representative on the county board is not representing me or, at the very least, acknowledging my position. I don’t believe my representative should or will always agree with my position. However, I do believe he should take it into consideration and should be willing to discuss it; rather than just saying it will cost too much. Cost can be an acceptable reason; although, it seems this is always the reason.

What I want in a county board representative is someone who is available and willing to hear my position, who will return my calls, who acknowledges my presence, who is respectful and reliable. My current representative has not demonstrated to me that he possesses these characteristics. He seems to have become complacent.

On Sunday, Feb. 16, I have the opportunity — and so do you — to meet face to face with one of the candidates for District 10 of the Lafayette County Board: Nancy Eustice Fisker. Nancy will be at the Wiota School House (Hwy 78) from 2 to 4 p.m. to meet with residents of district 10. She will be there to learn about local concerns and what is important to you. Stop in and get to know her — you too may learn it is time for a change.
