From Donna Douglas, Alder
Monroe
To the Editor:
I am urging the citizens of Monroe to become aware of issues that face the Monroe City Council. As one of nine elected alderpersons on the City Council, I feel it is vital for you, as citizens, to be informed of current challenges that we are facing.
The impact of budgets, financially, for the citizens of Monroe and our surrounding townships, directly impact the economy and health of the entire community.
The city limits of Monroe, Wisconsin does not create an island! We are a community of people that need to share services, not duplicate services, buildings, and equipment. It is time to blur the lines and embrace the concept and reality of collaboration and cooperation, as it has been for many years.
Recognizing the rising costs and the effects of the ongoing world-wide pandemic, local units of government need to work together, not independently. By working together, we can achieve more than we ever can do alone.
Please contact your elected officials and become informed and involved on issues facing our entire community, the City of Monroe, and surrounding townships.
Your support and feedback is needed and appreciated, on all issues facing the City of Monroe.
