To the editor:

Mr. Tom Wentworth, President of the Monroe Morning Optimist Club, in conjunction with the board, announced a donation of $1,000 to the Monroe School District Back Pack Buddies Program. 

We do this at this time of school closings, and possible food insecurity during the current COVID-19 pandemic, as our way of helping, and in thanks for the amazing support the community has shown us over the past 40 years with our annual cheese curd sales fundraising. 

It is in keeping with our motto to “Bring out the best in our youth; in ourselves, and in our community.”
