Henderson: Local ‘Remove the Regime’ protests Nov. 22
Letter To The Editor

From Roald Henderson

Albany

To the Editor:

The government shutdown may be over but the suffering and injustices in our communities haven’t been solved. They continue. On Saturday, November 22, Albany and Monroe 50501 Movements will participate in the national protest ‘Remove the Regime’. These protests are part of an ongoing effort to publicize and expose the suffering and injustices in our local communities caused by the Trump administration.

The loss of healthcare subsidies, the impact of tariffs on agricultural costs and revenue, the lack of affordable childcare, the lawlessness of immigration enforcement, and the inequities in the US tax system are just some of the issues that need to be addressed. These issues matter to our local communities and we deserve to have our voices heard.

We focus on issues rather than personalities and political affiliations. Our voices and those of millions of Americans impact election outcomes when people vote. The nation saw that in the votes cast on November 5th.

Join us in peaceful, non-violent protests and make your voices heard on Saturday, 11/22 — in Albany from 10-11:30 a.m. on Highway 59; in Monroe from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Highway 69 and 8th St.
