To the Editor:

In light of the upcoming referendum, my sisters and I would like to share our Pleasant View experience.

Our mother, Mary K. Schmid, was a resident there from October 2018 until she passed in May 2023. During that time, she received excellent care and was treated with dignity, kindness, compassion, and humor. Her wing became family, staff and residents alike. It was fun to go visit her and interact with the other residents and staff. There was frequent laughter and again, kindness. Kudos to the staff for getting through the long, difficult time ahead of Covid and the creativity they showed during that time.

It was a blessing that Mom could stay in a nursing home in the area she lived in. It made it much easier for friends, family, and her pastor to visit. Please never undervalue what we have here in Green County.

We urge you to vote Yes on the Pleasant View referendum.
