Delforge: Candidacy for Town of NG Supervisor
Letter To The Editor

From Drew Delforge

Town of New Glarus

To the Editor:

Dear Residents of the Town of New Glarus,

Drew Delforge, a Town of New Glarus resident announcing my candidacy for Town Supervisor Seat #3 in the April 7, 2026, election. I have resided in the Town of New Glarus for the past 23 years and in Green County for the past 35 years. This community is my home, and I want to protect its character while ensuring responsible, forward-thinking leadership.

Our township residents deserve transparency, accountability, and financial stewardship of our tax dollars. Local government works best when it is open to all, uses systems of checks and balances, and is focused on clearly defined priorities supported by all Residents.

My work and volunteer organization history have involved skills that directly apply to the day-to-day operations of the Town Board:

-Budget development, strategic planning with consensus approval, and financial oversight.

-Project planning, management, including contract negotiation and cost analysis -Policy development and implementation, including employee engagement.

Currently, several areas within our town government are underperforming.

Residents deserve precise, understandable details in financial reporting, clear communication about how and why decisions are made, along with accurate recording and documentation of these decisions. Long-term planning must be presented to residents to prevent reactive decision-making that can cascade into cost overruns. We need clear definitions of what constitutes essential services to our residents and how those services are funded and provided. Property taxes have continued to rise; the Board must ensure that spending aligns with the core responsibilities of town government as well as reflects the priorities of our residents.

If elected, I will advocate on your behalf for the items mentioned above.

Our Town residents deserve leadership representing all, respectful dialogue, and decisions based on facts and fiscal accountability. Your elected officials should listen to YOU and represent YOUR interests with integrity, accountability, and transparency.

TOGETHER, we can strengthen our town’s future while preserving the values that make it such a special place to call home.

Please be an informed voter on April 7th.
