From Jim Carter

To the Editor:
I would encourage you to read these lines thoughtfully.
It is a small room with cement walls and no windows. It has a steel door and a cot that lies along the back wall. The emaciated person sitting on the cot speaks in a soft voice.
“They came for the socialists and I didn’t stand up.
They came for the Catholics and I didn’t stand up.
They came for the Protestants and I didn’t stand up.
They came for the Jews and I didn’t stand up.
Then they came for me and there wasn’t anyone left to stand up.”
