To the Editor:
With all the social unrest, arresting minorities, and killing protestors in Minneapolis, I got to thinking about my community involvement, should the KING’s, ICE and Border Patrol, armed, and masked thugs come here? Minneapolis figured out the correct approach, which caused the thugs to recalibrate their approach and some even left the community.
An Administrative Warrant signed by the King’s leader of the thug group, is ONLY for or the arrest of someone they have reason to believe, is violating civil immigration laws. It is illegal for thugs with an Administrative Warrant to round up groups of minorities and figure out later if one was here illegally. Also they cannot bust doors down to arrest someone in a home or other non-public place.
A Bench Warrant is signed by a judge after he received probable cause that a crime has been committed, and allows the thugs to do many thing to fulfill the warrant.
Minnesota has correctly identified the correct approach to the thugs. Legal protests and making “Good Trouble” works wonders. The thugs don’t like it when the public protests their actions. Groups with banners and making loud noises is legal.
Their Christian communities also organized and stood up. Clergy encouraged this action against injustice from the pulpit. What would Jesus do, was their guiding principal.
Most clergy live with a healthy respect, one might say bordering on fear of our government. When asked to speak to against social injustice, they frequently say they can’t speck up because of fear of loosing their nonprofit status. The correct approach is that it is ILLEGAL for Clergy to endorse any candidate or political party. They legally can speak out about ANY social injustice.
I ask you to APPROACH your clergy and ask how they will approach the social injustice when, not if, they come to your community. Remember, according to Max Lucado, “No One Can Do Everything, But Everyone Can Do Something!”
In a related action, please attend the 3rd NO KING protest in many Green County communities on Saturday, March 28, 2026 and investigate the 50501 group in Monroe for ways to be active for the good of your community.
