Candidate, Wisconsin State Assembly, District 51

To the editor:

According to a recent Gallup poll, nearly 60 percent of Americans think that neither major political party represents the American people and that a third major political party is needed. This percentage is the highest that it has been in the last 10 years. Gallup also exposed the fact that the majority of Americans no longer feel represented and no longer support the two party system monopoly of American politics.

Often times I hear people saying that they plan on voting for the lesser of two evils when they visit the polls, as had been true for myself as well. This does not have to be the case. In a country that prides itself on the democratic process where you can pick from dozens of brands of dog food, why does it always seem to come down to having to pick between two political parties at the polls?

After continually finding myself unsatisfied with the two choices that are typically on the ballot every time I voted, I decided it was time for another option on the ballot this fall. As a candidate for State Assembly in District 51, I am proud to offer the voters in my district another selection when they head to the polls on Nov. 4. I am pleased to join 10 other Libertarian candidates in Wisconsin in providing another choice to the voters, five of which are running for statewide offices.

For another choice this November, vote Libertarian in 2014.
