From Erin Gellings
Prom for Pennies chairperson and
Gail Eiserman
Students of Service Advisor
To the editor:
On Sunday, Jan. 27, the Monroe High School Students of Service Club sponsored our second annual Prom for Pennies Event. We had a wonderful selection of more than 80 prom and formal dresses for high school girls from the Monroe and Green County area, thanks to the generous donations of community members throughout Green County.
We would like to thank the Monroe area churches, Green County Leaders and the Green County 4-H program for helping us promote the event. Special thanks to Julie's Bridal Gallery for the donation of new dresses for the event. Thank you also to the following businesses and groups for the donations to our raffle: Studio 906, Paul Mitchell Salon, the Monroe High School Junior Prom committee. Thank you also to the Monroe Theatre Guild for allowing us to use their facility for the event.
The Students of Service group will continue to collect formal and prom dresses throughout the year in anticipation for our Prom for Pennies event in 2014. Donations can be to the Monroe High School Students of Service Club by contacting Gail Eiserman at 328-7316 or Gail.Eiserman@monroe.k12.wi.us.
