Monroe

To the editor:

We believe that Nikki Matley is an excellent choice for the Monroe School Board. We have known Nikki for many years. Her commitment to community and to the organizations that keep Monroe vital is outstanding. She has volunteered thousands of hours on behalf of the people of Monroe. Her thoughtful, inclusive and collaborative leadership makes her a delight to work with. When Nikki volunteers for an organization, she takes responsibility, puts her whole heart into it, and makes things happen. We say this from experience.

Nikki has stated, "Great schools are the cornerstone of great communities." We think this is a critical point: That without great schools, it becomes very difficult to recruit great doctors, great professionals and great workers to our community.

Nikki's career in business and specifically financial services gives her a unique ability to balance fiscal responsibility with the needs of children. As a parent, she has experience working collaboratively with the staff, parents and children of the district. She has been a passionate school volunteer and recently served as the Treasurer of the referendum SAY YES! committee.

Our district has recently hired a new Superintendent of schools. Nikki has excellent experience in working with new community leaders, including, most recently, the Chamber of Commerce director, and the GCDC Executive Director. Nikki's experience would be very valuable as the school district transitions to new school leadership. She would be a new, fresh voice on the board.

For all of the above reasons, and many more, we give our unwavering support to Nikki Matley for school board. Please join us in voting for her on April 4.
