To the editor:
On May 7, the Monroe High School Key club along with its sponsor Susan Lanison held a Senior Prom for the Senior Citizens of Monroe and surrounding area. They planned an evening of fun, along with dancing, food and entertainment.
I was fortunate to attend this event and what an amazing job these young people and Ms. Lanison did. They decorated the M-Room, served the food, took pictures, waited on us like we were royalty, and even spent the evening dancing with the seniors. These young people exemplify the wonderful youth of our community. They raised the money, along with donations from MHS FFA, and the Kiwanis Club, and paid for the entire event. Thank you to all of these wonderful students that spent the time planning and organizing, as well as participating in the event on that evening. Each of them deserves a huge thank you.
