To the editor:
I believe that most citizens will respect parking limits if they know there is a limit, especially visitors from out of town. I suggest that the City of Monroe number each of the parking stalls and paint the number and the time limit on the curb, ie: 4 = 2-hour parking limit, 5 = 4-hour parking limit, etc. until all concerned stalls are identified.
The majority of citizens will respect the limits. If there are vehicles parked for excessive periods then any citizen can notify the police to investigate and take appropriate action to resolve the problem.
