To the editor:
Dear Friends, Library Patrons and Concerned Citizens,
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your outpouring of support and input regarding the position of Library Director for the Monticello Public Library. It has been heartening to witness so many who share our passion for our local library and its future.
As the Monticello Library Board of Trustees, we are committed to ensuring the continued success, maintenance, and growth of our public library, which is a valued asset for our community. As many of you in our community know, choosing a leader to take us into the next decade is an extremely important job. As a Board, it is our responsibility to develop and implement a fair and professional process for choosing the next leader/director for the library. This is a difficult task, which requires adequate time and careful consideration of many elements and qualifications.
All of our Library Board meetings begin with a public comment session. We meet on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Library, 512 E. Lake Ave. If there is a need, a special meeting may be called, but the agendas are always posted at the Library, Post Office, and Village Hall. You are always welcome to attend.
