To the editor:

Several weeks ago a group of residents of the Town of Jordan were given the opportunity to appear before the Jordan Town Board to request the placement of a referendum on the Town's ballot for the April 4 election. The referendum asks voters either to approve or disapprove the concept of a Constitutional Amendment proposed by Wisconsin United to Amend. The object of the proposed Amendment is to restore meaningful limitations on contributions of anonymous so-called "dark money" in U.S. elections. On behalf of those residents and Wisconsin United to Amend, I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank the Board for the courtesy with which we were received, the discussion that was aired, and for its agreement to put this issue before Jordan Township voters in April. We hope that all interested parties will have the chance to express their views on this issue in the coming weeks.
