Gov. Scott Walker and his cronies in the legislature in the end are not going to win. Why?
Because there are good people in Wisconsin who are giving of their time and their ideas to give a hand to those who have been hurt by Walker's inhumane proposals and his control of the legislature.
I will give you a few examples. They were recently in the newspaper. Bob Beck wanted to help the homeless and have them live with dignity. He brought Family Promise to Green County. Homeless people in these United States - it is hard to believe, isn't it? The homeless in Green County now have 13 churches to sleep in. Churches are people. And they are responding to a need.
Next is Donna Phillips who has worked with the Mobile Food Pantry so people can have decent food to eat. She has done it for years and so has Tammy Krieger. Walker is not going to stop them.
One last example is Gloria Schwartzlow. She helps with Family Promise for the homeless on laundry nights, works at the Mobile Food Pantry and is a kitchen volunteer for Loaves and Fishes.
There are many, many people who work with these people and others throughout Green County.
There is no "divide and conquer" here. Because of all these volunteers, the people of Wisconsin will defeat Scott Walker and his inhumane policies. I salute them. Good will triumph.
