Monroe school board president

To the editor:

Serving the Monroe School District as a member of the Board of Education has been both an honor and a privilege for the past 12 years. There have been many highs and certainly a few lows during that time, but through it all, it has been gratifying to serve the students and families of our community, and the dedicated staff and administration of our District.

To have an outstanding District, it takes outstanding people, and our school board is no exception. Our two incumbents running for re-election, Amy Bazley and Mary Berger, have a track record of putting our kids first, regardless of the issue, and are exceptional members of our board. We are lucky to have Amy and Mary serving our District, and I have been very proud to work alongside such capable and dedicated people devoted to ensuring that all kids have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. I urge you to re-elect Amy and Mary on April 3 so they can continue to make a strong and lasting impact on our District and our kids. They are committed to doing what's right, and they will help our District continue its trend of fiscal responsibility and academic growth for all students.

I also encourage you to support Teresa Keehn, who is running as a write-in candidate for the Monroe School Board. As co-chair of the Say YES! to Monroe Schools referendum committee in 2016, Teresa worked extremely hard to build support for our District and ensure that resources were available to maintain enriching programming and quality infrastructure for our students.

Teresa has spent many years in education and has a firm grasp of the issues that drive success in schools. I was extremely impressed with the work done by the Say YES! to Monroe Schools committee, and saw firsthand how Teresa's leadership, work ethic, and ability to build relationships resonated with our community. She has all the skills necessary to make for a strong addition to our board, and she has earned my unqualified respect and endorsement as a board candidate. She will bring talent, energy, passion and knowledge to our board from day one.

Please support Amy Bazley, Mary Berger and Teresa Keehn for the Monroe School Board. They will be good for our schools, our community and the students of the Monroe School District.
