Recreation director,

Monroe Parks and Recreation

To the editor:

Thank you to Main Street Monroe for partnering with the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department for the "Cinderella Comes to the Square" program on Thursday, August 24.

It was a huge success and truly enchanted evening for all.

Thank you to the Green County Dairy Queens for going above and beyond by dressing up as Disney Princesses. The children's eyes lit up at the sight of them and there was so much excitement in their voices as they saw each and every one of you. Thanks to Mrs. Reeson for making the arrangements with the Queens. We appreciate their time and the parents time with all the preparation and creativity to make the evening an enchanting one for the children.

Thank you to Colony Brands for sponsoring this event. Many children enjoyed an evening of games, activities and fun. Thank you for sponsoring the train rides and the pony rides for the children.

Thank you to Marv Rufi, from Marv's Farm Toys and Antiques, for providing our train rides for the event. We know many children and even some parents joined in the fun.

Thank you to the parents who got their own children dressed up in their prince and princess outfits and other costumes for the evening. What a special way to spend a fun evening with your family.

Thank you to our tremendous playground staff for a summer of fun activities: Tot Lot, Adventure Club, Community Connections, and several One-day programs. This final one-day event of "Cinderella Comes to the Square" was a great way to finish the summer on a high note. Well done, Ben Latimer, Kirsten Vetterli, Lauren Hlubek, and Lexi Hilliard for organizing wonderful programs for the children in our community. Thank you to our volunteers who worked with our Tot Lot program. Thank you to Bella, Alicia, and Melana Brunton, and Megan Benzschawel for helping out with our Tot Lot Program. Thank you to Lydia Butler, Elsa Schafer, Lane and Cole Meier and the Brunton girls for helping out with our one-day programs. We are proud to have you represent the Parks and Recreation Department of Monroe.
