To the editor:

On Tuesday, April 7, 2015, voters in Green County will have an opportunity to cast a ballot for Green County Circuit Court Judge. Judge Jim Beer was appointed to the Circuit Court for Green County in 1996 and has served the citizens of Green County in that capacity for nearly two decades. I am endorsing Judge Beer for re-election to Branch One of the Green County Circuit Court.

During his years on the Green County Circuit Court, Judge Beer has established a record for being a hard-working and fair-minded Judge. For more than a decade, the Green County Circuit Court had one of the highest weighted caseloads for a trial court in the State of Wisconsin. During that time, Judge Beer efficiently and effectively managed this caseload, spending countless hours sitting in the courtroom, presiding over criminal and civil trials, and hearing family and juvenile court proceedings.

In criminal cases, Judge Beer has consistently provided meaningful sentences for offenders, respecting the constitutional rights of persons accused of crimes, ensuring fair and impartial trials for defendants, honoring and respecting the rights of victims, and, most importantly, imposing appropriate sentences that provide punishment and deterrence, which still allowing offenders an opportunity for rehabilitation and reintegration into society, upon completion of their incarceration.

Please join me on Tuesday, April 7 in casting your vote for Judge Jim Beer for Green County Judge.
