So the Republicans want to put a tax on hybrid cars. In about 5 minutes on the internet, I found 10 Hybrid SUV's that get 30-32 mpg, 10 Hybrid cars that are rated from 30-42 mpg, a Chevrolet Hybrid pickup rated around 21 mpg, and a new GMC pickup that is a mild Hybrid rated at 24 mpg. There are many non-Hybrid cars that do better and I have a friend with a diesel VW Bug and he claims over 50 mpg.
Why would you want to slam a tax on a low-wage worker with a used Prius?
Why ignore the oversized agriculture equipment destroying our roads doing millions of dollars of damage? I have seen pictures of tractors in other countries with license plates so why don't we hold them accountable for the destruction of our township roads?
Taxing Hybrids makes about as much sense as a tax on red cars.
