National Cover the Uninsured Week is April 27-May 3. In hundreds of communities across the country, events are being held to highlight the fact that too many of us live without health care coverage. As the cost of health care coverage continues to rise, fewer businesses, individuals and families find it affordable. It is a problem that affects all of us.
The Green County Coalition to Cover the Uninsured is extending an invitation to the community to attend a roundtable discussion by representatives from state and local government regarding the challenges of affordable and accessible health care coverage in our communities. The discussion will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, in Founders Hall/Clinic Building at Monroe Clinic, 515 22nd Ave. in Monroe.
The roundtable discussion is a collaborative effort of the Green County Coalition to Cover the Uninsured, which includes representatives from Green County Health Department, Green County Human Services, Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Monroe Clinic, St. Vincent DePaul, Swiss Colony, The Monroe Times, United Way and WEKZ.
People from throughout area communities are invited to gather to share ideas and experiences, and very importantly, to learn what resources are available in Green County for individuals, families and business owners without adequate health insurance coverage. Your participation and presence would be greatly appreciated.
We hope you are able to attend the roundtable discussion at 1:30 p.m. April 28 at Monroe Clinic.
