Now is not the time for Green Haven to be forced to cut programming; it is a pressure-packed time when our families in Green County need more support than ever.
Green Haven Family Advocates staff help victims of domestic violence and their families in maintaining their safety by assisting them in obtaining restraining orders. They assist our domestic violence victims during complicated and lengthy court proceedings. They help victims in arranging housing and work with them in connecting the victims to community resources to maintain their independence and safety long term. Our deputies refer folks to Green Haven Family Advocates every week, as we are confident that they will get the advice and help that they need there.
I cannot imagine having the functions of that important organization diminished due to lack of funding.
