Margie and I urge all readers in Green County to vote for Dan Gartzke for Green County Judge. He lives in New Glarus and has handled cases across the state. This is a new judgeship opportunity in Branch 2. Dan brings 23 years of experience in courts across the state having handled cases focusing on family law, worker's comp., litigations to real estate and bankruptcy cases and more. He has been before judges in cities large and small. Dan was the Green County Bar Association president in 2000. He is currently president of the Dane County Bar Association, the first person elected president of the Dane County Bar who actually lives outside of Dane County! This is one indicator of the respect and high regard Dan has amongst his peers.
Dan brings not only integrity, experience and fairness to the bench, but much more. He is extremely involved in his community as a coach for high school mock trial teams as well as sports teams. He is on the Wilhelm Tell Guild Board, participates in Tree Planting during Arbor day, is a "Big Brother," was on the Board of New Glarus Community Foundation and more. As a personal friend we have seen his thoughtful discussion and reasonable approaches while others sometimes let emotions take the upper hand. It cannot be emphasized enough that Dan is really committed to Fairness. Dan has been a hardworking attorney bringing cases before judges for many years. His father was a judge before him. He is a principled man and again, is well respected by not only peers, but his community as a whole. He also knows how to make really great maple syrup from his own trees and also homemade sauerkraut. Talk about tradition and patience.
There has been much discussion about the other candidates. In our minds, there is no comparison as to the respect and fairness to all that Dan would bring to the Court. Please vote in the primary on February 17th and choose Dan.
