Kutter Harley-Davidson/Buell extends its appreciation to the officials of Janesville and the many communities of Rock County that contributed to the success of the 2008 Harley Owners Group HOG "Tub Run" in support of the families in the region dealing with the challenges of Muscular Dystrophy. Kutter has been proud to be the lead sponsor of this important fund-raising event for 14 years. This year's ride drew more than 1,800 bikers and raised more than $170,000.
This year was an especially challenging one for many in the region with the weather-related problems and flooding in our communities. Therefore, we sincerely appreciate the support of the community organizations and the local law enforcement groups, including the staff of the Rock County Sheriff's Department, Janesville Police Department, Fulton Township Police Department for leading a safe ride and the community of Clinton for welcoming our riders with open arms and being a gracious host.
We extend special thanks to all the drivers who were delayed along the route of this year's ride. By their patience and understanding, they too contributed to the important work that the Harley Owner's Group members undertake each year in this event. We can take great pride in this community, both in the fact that this is the most successful individual HOG fundraising event in the country, and in the critical support we provide to the kids and families throughout South Central Wisconsin suffering with this terrible disease. With this year's ride, our total contributions have exceeded $1.3 million.
Kutter Harley-Davidson and our South Central Wisconsin HOG Chapter would like to extend this opportunity to all of our friends in Rock, Walworth and Green counties to get involved with helping Jerry's Kids. If you have not had the chance and would like to help with a monetary donation, you may do so by sending it to: Kutter Harley-Davidson/Buell BOX 1051, Janesville, WI 53547-1051. We will be sure it reaches our local MDA Chapter prior to the presentation of the final check on national television to the Jerry Lewis Telethon on Labor Day.
