So, we have been very busy putting the details together in preparations for the 2018 Stateline Home & Business Expo. Each year, the best businesses come together to bring the stateline the newest products and services. Spring is so eagerly awaited, and planning and budgeting for home improvements is part of this transition into spring. With a focus on home improvement naturally taking the lead in our expo, customers get to hear straight from the experts on the latest trends and innovations that will make life much more satisfying in the stateline region. We have always tried to bring new and exciting elements to the expo. Recent years have seen the addition of a child's play area that allows parents the opportunity to speak to professionals and get one-on-one attention on very important decisions they need to make while the children can play in a supervised area. This has really brought a family-friendly element to the expo. Attendees of the expo can also take advantage of our seminar series. Vendors take turns during the event and share their demonstrations in a more focused setting. We are happy to announce some great additions to this year's event to showcase our member businesses to the entire stateline region.

We have the luxury of a wonderful relationship with the SLICE Arena located at 1632 4th Ave. West. Once the hockey season ends, the SLICE Arena quickly switches gears and gets utilized for its secondary purpose. As an exhibition hall, it gets used for multiple events throughout the year. Recent renovations and continued improvements allow us to offer more options and take advantage of better facilities. The area known as the "warming room" has allowed us to bring a new dynamic in the expo. We have expanded the event to include our local wine and beer producers to participate. Tastings will be available during select hours during the event. We think this will broaden the focus on the many different industries that are thriving in the stateline area. We have a separate area that will allow our local producers the opportunity to let the public sample our locally crafted beverages.

Mrs. Wisconsin International 2018 Tashona Smith will be in attendance. She will be signing autographs and taking pictures. She is really shining a light on Monroe, and we are happy to have her help promote our local businesses. Speaking of royalty, Cheese Days Ambassador Tess Zettle will also be participating during the weekend. We are happy the Cheese Days organization is committed to promoting the businesses. Having such a fantastic addition to our event is truly to our advantage.

One commonly asked question that we are addressing this year is "Can I sell my products at the Stateline Home and Business Expo?" The answer is a very clear YES! For both local businesses and stateline shoppers alike the expo is a sweet deal. Shopping locally for everything from everyday needs to your major home improvements and everything in between could not be made easier. So show your local businesses some love and support them at the largest and best shop local event the stateline has ever seen.

The expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 8, and as always, the expo is free for the public to attend.

If you are an area business that has not participated in the expo before, this is the year to try something new and reach the more than 1,800 stateline shoppers that are eager to show their support. You do not need to be a Chamber member to participate as a vendor, but we do offer special pricing for our Chamber members, just one of the many benefits of being a member, or you can choose to pay a non-member rate for this fantastic opportunity.

I can't thank the countless people and organizations that make sure the Stateline Home and Business Expo comes together every year. I anticipate 2018 will be one more of the improvements that we see changing the impact the expo has on the entire stateline region.

So mark your calendar and make your life easier. Come in to the 2018 Stateline Home and Business Expo April 7-8. I look forward to seeing you there!
