The Pleasant View issue has me confused.
I signed a petition at my local pharmacy, but as I recall the wording only said that I was in favor of keeping the nursing home open. I definitely am in favor of keeping Pleasant View open. I have made many visits there, and I always have found it to be a first-class facility.
It seems that now, all of a sudden, we are surprised that funds are running out. Haven't we heard about this for the past several years? What are the options if the referendum fails? What budget cuts will need to be made to find the money? How can I, or any other voter, make an informed decision without knowing the facts?
Is this money only for operation of the home? What about the building, which supposedly is outdated? What about the Human Services building, which is even older and more outdated?
I'm sure the Green County Board has a plan to address these issues, since they have been talked about for several years. Please let us hear about those plans.
