Two years ago, the voters wanted change. After 20-plus years of the so-called good times brought about by tax breaks, risk of investing costly wars, no-bid contracts awarded to administration cronies and the failure of government to police out of control deficit spending, change was needed.
During these so-called good times, we had no balanced federal budgets except for a few years under the Clinton administration, which was marred by the signing of the NAFTA fiasco and of course President Bill's zipper malfunctions.
Change was needed and we got change. Now after only two years of this needed change, we are headed back to the same old ways that got us into this mess.
If it took us 20-plus years to get to this point. Why do we expect to pull out of this problem in only two years. This false sense of prosperity was only spoiling us to expect instant gratification. I want it and I want it now!!!
The GOP (Grand Old Party) constantly labeled the Democratic liberals as tax-and-spend culprits while cutting taxes and going deeper into debt.
Anybody who can add 2+2 and come up with 4 should be able to see that we cannot spend billions of dollars and reduce taxes without increasing our national debt.
Millions of dollars are spent year after year to finance campaigns for legislators and Judges to get elected. Just because of this we have people in charge of government and the courts who are beholding to their generous benefactors. (The best that money can buy.)
I would think that any rational person would have enough patience to allow the change to accomplish its objectives before jumping back into the problems that brought about the need for change.
The decision recently arrived at in our U.S. Supreme Court that money is speech, I believe is totally wrong and should be reversed immediately.
It seems that our GOP has gone from Grand Old Party to Greed Oriented Party and that the word conservative is good and that the word liberal is bad.
Are we not our brothers' keeper?
