Blossoms: Summer was again great ... thanks to many special people, like Anthony and Tom at The Monroe Times; lawn mower of Browntown garden path Frank Potter; Lynda and John Snider for the American flag in memory of Ray Snider; Lucy Huber for the much needed flag pole in memory of Charles Huber; Phil and Judy Welty, handmade bird houses and more. And Rob keeping me in wood chips and others donating. - Gratefully your flower lady, Jean Winkler

A blossom to the American Legion for the very nice Veterans Remembrance program that was held at the Monroe Bible Church on Nov. 9. As a widow of a veteran, who served in three wars, it was much appreciated. Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl gave a very nice message. Thank you so much. - Anonymous

Blossoms to the citizen who turned in our flag at the sheriff's department. As promised, no questions asked. This flag will fly 365 days a year until it needs replacement at which time, I have been told, it will be placed in the Browntown museum to honor our loved one's service in Viet Nam. Thank you to The Monroe Times for publishing our letter which was directly responsible for bringing the flag home. - Lynda Snider, Browntown

A blossom to the volunteers who made the 2014 Green County Veterans Appreciation Dinner possible. Thanks to the Albany and Monroe Lions Clubs and the Juda Forefathers. Music was provided by Del Heins and Jerry Hastings. The Sugar River Bank took reservations. And food donations were provided by the Monroe Senior Center and Don Olin. - The Green County Veterans Service Office
