I'd like to give a blossom to Bargains Galore. I have been shopping at the store since they have opened, and they have never let me down. The customer service, selection of products and prices are all great. I'm so thankful that Monroe is able to have a store like this; it saves me so much money on groceries. I've been to both discount stores several times, but I do prefer this one based on service, prices and selection, and I have found I really only need to shop at the one store anyway, since I usually find everything I'm looking for. I am usually in Bargains Galore once a week, and most generally I find their shelves are well stocked with most everything I could want/need. I am also quite fond of their organic/natural selection since I like to eat healthy, but simply can't afford to from a regular grocery store. I hope this store continues to do well, and I will enjoy meeting my shopping needs here. - Satisfied customer

A barb to Dave Searles for proposing that his free speech is the only speech that matters. As for the Tea Party rants of "anonymous," I guess he's too busy working for the Occupy movement and hacking government and corporate websites for the liberal cause to sign his name - or is that a different "anonymous" who refuses to identify himself in support of his beliefs? - Anonymous

A big, fat barb to "Honor under fire." I wish to reach out to the person who referred to him or herself as W.H.A. Veterans of all wars have had great respect for the people who didn't go to war. We are happy that you didn't have to go. War means different things to different people. Some people can't wait to get in, some people can't wait to get one more Canadian bear hunt under their belt, only never to be heard from again. A little humor there, you hunters know who you are, sorry I am drifting off here. In a nice way, we are trying to say please give us some respect, and try to remember us as a dying end to some terrible wars. Some of us got to come back because of the heroes that we fought with. Many times fellow soldiers put their life on the line to save daydreamers like me. So please, just let our VFW 2312 drift off. Let us remember the good times. We have accepted that we lost our VFW. A lot of good, brave men and women gave you, W.H.A., the right to make jest of us. We want to thank you for your opinion, without the fear of repercussion or even death in some countries. So thank your stars, my friend. If per chance you find your self talking to an old-school veteran, feel free to thank him, shake his hand, and buy him or her a beer. I drink Miller Lite myself - no actually, I drink Coke or Pepsi now. My vision isn't what it was, so I would like to thank my lifelong soul mate Po-In Tang for all her help. I lost a war, Po-In Tang lost her country. So go with God my friend - Always, Wiley, life member No. 2312, USMC

I would like to send a huge blossom to Karen Peterson from Monroe Travel. Friends were going to join us in Florida, but their flight through Direct Flights, out of the Rockford airport, canceled their operations. They were left with no tickets and no flight. This trip had been planned for three months. They did not buy their tickets from Karen, but she tried so to help them find a solution to their problem. What great customer service she provided even though they were not her customers. We did buy our tickets from Karen; our tickets and flight are right on. Thank you Karen, for all the extra work you did for this couple. - Glad we are your customers

A big blossom to Sheryl Brown. She put a new headliner in my collectable car and did the visors. She spend many hours on the visors and did a perfect job, and was very reasonable in her price. I would recommend her for upholstery work. A big blossom to Howard Schillor. He does us a lot of his time to his time to help me, when I have something I can't get to, and also if I need a ride when I get certain tests and the doctor don't want me to drive Howard is right there, helping out. He also has a lot of Christianity. - Allen Schroeder

A blossom to Ben, a Sunday school student at Browntown Peach Church. You sure started something by sending me the homemade Christmas Card with the cut-out articles pasted inside. One said "take a pumpkin out of the patch and light it up for all the world to see." I passed it on to my families at Christmas time. I also told my friend Patti about it. Apparently the meaning stuck with her as she said this Easter she is placing a stuffed lamb and lion in her downtown window in Warren for all the world to see. As people walk by, they will see her light and remember how a lamb and lion will lie down peacefully with each other (Matthew 5:15-16.) Hopefully people will see and create their own way of shining their own way of "shining their light for all the world to see." (Isaiah 11: 6) - Josie

A blossom to the UW-Extension, and to all the volunteers who conducted the surveys on the Cheese Country Trail. This trail bring a lot of revenue to the Tri-County area. A barb to the city of Monroe and to whoever decided to put the trailhead near Twining Park. Why not locate it between the Cheese Country Trail and the Badger State Trail so all users could benefit from it? Let's make Monroe inviting for all trail users, not just the bicycles. - Ernie and Nancy Beutel
