A blossom to everyone who has contributed to the Homelessness Prevention Coalition of Green County through the envelope fundraiser (inserted in The Monroe Times and other local papers). More than $8,000 has been collected so far. It's not too late to make a donation using the envelope or by writing a check to SWCAP-HPCGC and sending it to Green County Leaders, Wisconsin Community Bank, P. O. Box 100 in Monroe. Also - a big bouquet of blossoms to the Monroe Fund for the $1,000 grant that HPCGC (under the SWCAP umbrella) received last week. And special thanks to the Green County Leaders group (especially Jean Sinkule) who wrote the grant. The Homelessness Prevention Coalition of Green County is making progress toward providing housing for the homeless in Green County. - Deb Weis

Lots of blossoms to the school age services in Monroe - both during the school year as well as summertime! Our kids, age 4 and 7, attend the YMCA afterschool program and they love it! Shannon and Tiffany help make this time fun with games, sports activities, homework help, etc. During the summer, we are grateful for the variety of classes offered in summer school. Our kids enjoy the variety ... from soccer, cooking, arts and crafts, to piano ... there's something for everyone. Jill and Julie are excellent piano teachers ... their enthusiasm is contagious! Our kids feel safe too, since they have the stickers with their class and bus schedule printed on them. What a great idea. Since moving to Monroe, we're impressed with the opportunities offered to our kids, and we hope to see more in the future! (Maybe a summer kids' yoga class? Beginning martial arts class?) Thanks for all your hard work. - Lara and C.J. Smith
