On Dec. 19, at Monroe Auto Sales, they had a wonderful event for the town of Monroe and where were you? You should have been there covering a story for the newspaper. Good things that people do are far in-between now. This was planned so well, and the people that showed up for this, was heart warming. Sherri, my heart goes out to you - how you train your horses its just unbelievable. I've owned horses all my life and to do what you did. I could never have done that with my horses. Also having the Green County Humane Society there just made it even more wonderful. I hope you made a lot of donations that day and adoptions. My grandchild is 5-years-old and never would go to Santa, guess what, she did this time. So if this goes in the barbs and blossoms section a big barb to the Times for not covering this event and an everlasting blossom to Sherri Fiduccia, Monroe Auto Sales and Green County Humane Society. Thanks so much. - Gerianna Zimmer

A blossom to say thank you to all the members of the Monroe Womens Club, many community volunteers, and donors who were part of the wonderful Christmas Stocking Program again this year. We know it requires a lot of time and energy from volunteers but very appreciated by many people right here in our local community. - Thankful

A blossom to the Monroe Times for all of their efforts to publish a daily paper and keep such an updated Web site. This is not very common in communities our size. We appreciate your service! - Thankful

This is a response to the blossom last week from Kelly Gordee. Yes, the students she praised at Pizza Hut were from Brodhead High School. They were members of the Brodhead High School Student Council and Concert Choir. The students had been caroling that morning at three nursing homes in Brodhead and were on their way to carol at Greenco's Christmas party. We would like to give Pizza Hut a huge blossom for their fantastic service that day taking care of our large group of 71. Also, a blossom to our bus drivers, Curtis Jones and Larry Ayres, who did a great job getting us around Brodhead and to Monroe in weather conditions that weren't the best for driving. The kids had a great time that day and appreciate the kind words from Mrs. Gordee. Brodhead does have terrific students, thank you. - Teri LaBorde, Paul Ritschard-Student Council Advisors, Dan Calhoon-Concert Choir Director
