John McCain is an American hero for his military service.
Today, however, John McCain is running for president. We must look at John today, not during his Naval service.
John is a survivor of more that one melanoma event (a most potentially deadly skin cancer); he survives serious wounds from his time as a POW.
He is like me, getting old. I have those senior moments, and maybe John does, also.
But mostly we should remember that he is retired by the U.S. Navy as 100 percent disabled.
We should let him go back to Arizona and live out his life in peace. The stress of being president of more than 300 million people suffering in terrible economic times is much more than we should ask of him.
So thank him for his service to our country, and retire him to Arizona. It is the very best any of us could do for him.
