On behalf of the board, staff and program participants of Green Haven Family Advocates, I would like to thank everyone who supported our 16th Annual Mother's Day Plant Sale. We exceeded our sales goal for this year's sale! This fundraiser is an important piece in our annual budget. The funds allow us to help those in Green County seeking to create peaceful homes, free of abuse and violence. We can only reach this goal with the support and involvement of the community.
We also would like to thank the following individuals for going above and beyond for this year's plant sale: Greg and Emily Wilde, Laurie Rear, Sue Barrett, Mary Schmidt, Maren Nelson, the Monroe FFA, Ahren's Acres, Roy's Market, First Banking Center in Albany, AMCORE Bank in Monroe, Monroe Clinic in Brodhead, Monticello City Hall and the many others who choose to remain unnamed.
Another opportunity for community involvement will be October 18. Green Haven volunteers will be coordinating a team fundraising event for that Saturday. The first Green County Expedition "08" (team/family scavenger hunt) will be a fun team event. We are seeking volunteers to assist with the planning and development of clues like: "This parade started in Chicago but some of the participants are in Green County. In fact one participant is standing on 7th Street in Monroe (with bells on), bring us a photo of all your team members with this one." We will be posting the answer at our Web site: www.greenhaven4help.com.
Green Haven Family Advocates, Inc is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the individuals and families of Green County through prevention education, advocacy, support and services for those affected by domestic violence and abuse. For emergency services please call (608) 325-7711, or toll-free at (800) 836-9788.
Again, our thanks to everyone for making our 16th Annual Mother's Day Plant Sale a huge success!
