The Special Olympic athletes, coaches and volunteers of Green County would like to thank everyone for their support. Your applause at the Cheese Days parade, your donations at our fundraisers and all the help we receive are beyond generosity. We appreciate everything you do to keep our program running. We would like to especially thank The Monroe Fund for its help with our basketball team grant.
At the moment, we have about 40 athletes that range in age from 9 years old to their 50s. We have coaches, volunteers and parents who give their time so our athletes can enjoy the sports we offer. We currently have bowling, basketball skills, basketball team play and track as competition sports. We offer social events as well. There are end of the sport get-togethers for athletes and parents, a Halloween party and a summer picnic.
We are always looking for extra volunteers. Visit the Special Olympics website for information or call me at (608) 862-1608. You will treasure the experience with these athletes.
