It takes a lot of big equipment to make a big box store. And big equipment can make big noises and, apparently, cause some big headaches.
Earth movers are busy at work at the future site of the Wal-Mart Supercenter. The groundbreaking ceremony was last week and it is expected to take about 10 to 11 months to build and prepare for opening.
On Thursday, a Times employee was in a place of business close to the site. While there, a loud noise was heard and a slight vibration felt. A store representative said there have been occasional noisy blasts and rattling accompanying the work at the Supercenter location.
This morning, over the police scanner in the Times newsroom, came a call from another employee from a nearby neighbor. The employee was concerned because a large truck apparently was blocking part of a roadway, making for difficult and dangerous travel.
Im curious if others have had similar experiences. If you have, please share them with me.
