Unbelievable. I am totally disillusioned by Idol. That Jason would survive another week is mind-blowing.

I felt bad for Brooke, but she couldn't hold on much longer. With a little more confidence, she could actually make it, though. Maybe her Idol experience will help with that. Carly Simon said this week that her favorite contestant was Brooke and that she was rooting for her. Carly Simon also said she thought it is cruel that booted-off contestants are expected to sing the show out -- I agree. I like Brooke for the fact that she seemed the most genuinely grateful to even be on the show. And what the heck - if you get a legend like Carly Simon rooting for you, I'd say you're a winner any day.

I also thought Ryan Seacrest's defense of Paula's wigged out night Tuesday was quite nice. I'm not sure what rumors are floating around about her -- haven't had time to Google it -- but no matter what, the show should stand up for her. She is, even with her extreme weirdness, part of what makes Idol a success franchise.
