Frances Milburn is a retired elementary and middle school teacher which included time on the Navajo Reservation and in England. During her years at Riverside Middle School in Watertown, Wisconsin, she wrote a youth novel Pizza Highway which was used in the Watertown school district.

Milburn published two previous serials, Hundred Dollar Cat (2013) and Roscoe's Treasure (2014). These serials were printed in the Watertown Daily Times and used in 30 area schools. Other newspapers in Wisconsin and other states including Vermont, New Hampshire, Iowa and North Carolina picked up the story. Her new storyClothesline Messages is available fall of 2015.

Milburn also self-published one book and has three more in the works. Her stories were featured in the Milwaukee Journal and Farmshine Magazine. She has written more than 50 essays and short stories and started Writers on the Run, an active local writing group.

She's developed curriculum in a variety of areas including Discover Mediaworks, an educational children's programming company. She won a state award for an innovative environmental program she created and used in Watertown. She is presently serving on the Watertown School Board. In addition, she is a graduate of Leadership Wisconsin, a 2-year intense program through University of Wisconsin Extension.

Milburn lives with her husband in rural Watertown.
