This was definitely a team effort, not only by the Monroe Wrestling Club wrestlers, but by everyone involved in the planning and preparation for this tournament. Thank you to Mallory Schmelzer, former high school wrestling manager for singing the National Anthem on Saturday and Sunday, as well as Elena Boss, 8th Grade Monroe Middle School student (and her sister Emily is an MWC wrestler), for also singing on Sunday at our youth tournament. These ladies did a fantastic job! This tournament would also not be as successful as it is without the help of so many people: the George and Gabrielle Breadon Family; the generous businesses and families who donated towards our club and the tournament; Stephanie Fletcher and Meagan Weckerly for organizing our phenomenal concessions both Saturday and Sunday; the Monroe High School Wrestling Team and Coaches; Monroe Wrestling Alumni; families of our current Monroe Wrestling Club wrestlers; families of our current high school wrestlers; the Monroe High School; the Monroe Wrestling Club Board and Tournament Planning Committee; Wes Speer for stepping in for any of our trainer needs; and, finally, the Monroe Wrestling Club wrestlers, Coaches and Head Coach John Witt. The support and dedication by all of these people is unmatched, which will help continue the growth of the wrestling program here in Monroe.
