MONROE — Monroe Parks and Recreation Department will offer Summer Dance for seven weeks from June 17 to July 29.
Instructors Maddison Markham and Abby Price will hold classes Wednesdays at the Behring Senior Center.
Due to COVID-19, the department is taking steps in an effort to keep its instructors, dancers and parents safe.
● Class size limited to eight dancers plus two teachers.
● For social distancing, class times have been changed to allow for more time between classes, which should lessen cross traffic.
● Parents and students are asked to use one door for entering and a different door for exiting to limit cross traffic.
● If parents are waiting during class time, they are asked to wait in their car rather than inside the building.
● Hand sanitizer will be available for dancers to “Gel up and Gel down” upon arriving at class and when leaving.
Registration can be done online or by stopping at the department office at 1110 18th Ave in the lower level of City Hall. Other questions are can be answered by calling the department at 329-2460.
Class times:
Ballet 1 for 3 to 4 year olds: 5:05 to 5:35 p.m.
Ballet 1 for 3 to 4 year olds: 5:50 to 6:20 p.m.
Ballet 2 for children 5 years and older: 6:35 to 7:05 p.m.
