Gunnison and Wren Hartley of Monroe recorded qualifying times for the state swim meet;  as members of the Verona Area Swim Team (VAST)  they participated in the Badger Aquatics Club swim meet held last weekend. Gunnison, a seventh grader at Monroe Middle School, swam the 1650 (yards/mile) for the first time and qualified for state in the 1650 Free and 1000 Free events. His qualifying times of 18:39:67 minutes for the 1650 Free style and 11:18:72 minutes for the 1000 Free style are personal best times for these events.

Wren Hartley, a fourth grader at Northside Elementary, while just turning ten years old in December qualified for state in her new age group for the 200 IM.  Wren dropped 14 seconds from the time she recorded a month ago, posting a personal best time now of 2:55:94 minutes.
