MILWAUKEE — The Green County Family YMCA Gators had nine swimmers compete in the 2025 YMCA Finalist Meet by Speedo Dec. 5-7. The meet was hosted by Schroeder Swim Team and held at the Walter Schroder Aquatics center in Brown Deer.
The Gators took 11th place out of 14 teams. Teams attending the meet including Southeastern Aquatics, Geneva YMCA Swim Team, Door County YMCA, Woodson YMCA Northern Swimmers, Fox Cities YMCA, McGaw YMCA Swim Team, Stevens Point YMCA, YMCA of Dane County Swim Team, Sheboygan Chinooks YMCA, Rock River Valley YMCA, OSHY Dolphins and Hastings Lake Stingrays.
The team had 26 personal best records out of 38 entries. High point earners for the team included Barrett Berg (14) with a total of 30 points, taking 1st place in both the 13-14 Boys 50 Free (24.48Y) and the 13-14 Boys 200 Free (2:00.42Y), 2nd in the 13-14Boys 100 Free (53.50Y) and, 6th in 13-14 Boys 100 Breast (1:17.31Y) and 7th in the Boys Open 500 Free (5:26Y). Everett Ramirez (9) earning a total of 17.5 points with a 2nd place in the Boys 9-10 50 Back (39.73Y), 4th in the Boys 9-10 100 IM (1:28.91Y), 6th in the Boys 9-10 50 Free (33.77Y), 8th in the Boys 9-10 100 Free (1:14.52Y), the Boys 9-10 50 Breast (48.66Y), and Boys 9-10 100 Breast (1:47.44Y).
Olivia Hustad (10) earning a total of 10 points with 4th place in the 9-10 Girls 100 Back (1:25.94Y), 8th place in both the 9-10 Girls 100 Free (1:18.57Y) and the 9-10 Girls 200 IM (3:32.84Y), 12th place in the 9-10 Girls 100 IM (1:37.18Y) and 13th place in the 9-10 Girls 50 Free (36.13Y). Olivie Akins (10) earned 3 points with a 7th place finish the 9-10 Girls 100 Breast (1:45.59), 8th in the 9-10 Girls 50 Breast (47.06Y), 9th place in the 9-10 Girls 200 IM (3:43.23Y), 15th in the 9-10 Girls 50 Fly (51.20Y), 17th in the 9-10 Girls 100 IM (1:45.04Y) and 37th in the 9-10 Girls 50 Free (42.58Y). Lauren Kosmosky (12) took 10th place in both the 11-12 Girls 100 Free (1:06.67Y) and the 11-12 Girls 50 Fly (35.14Y), and 16th in the 11-12 Girls 100 IM (1:21.26Y). Sadie Wellman (9) taking 15th in the 9-10 Girls 50 Breast (49.23Y), 16th in the 9-10 Girls 50 Back (44.53Y) and 24th in the 9-10 Girls 50 Free (39.12Y). Brynleigh Wellman (13) 30th in the 13-14 Girls 200 Free (2:30.51Y), 33rd in the 13-14 Girls 100 Back (1:17.93Y) and 40th in the 13-14 Girls 50 Free (30.29Y). Stella Rolli (12) took 22nd in the 11-12 Girls 100 Breast (1:36.89Y), 26th in the 11-12 Girls 100 Free (1:13.58Y) and 29th in the 11-12 Girls 100 IM (1:29.97). Anneliese Ramirez (13) took 36th in the 13-14 Girls 100 Free (1:13.01Y), 44th in the 13-14 Girls 100 Back (1:34.16Y), 51st in the 13-14 Girls 50 Free (33.75Y).
The Gators will travel to Geneva Lakes YMCA for the December Conference meet on Friday, Dec. 12 and will compete in the Frostbite Invitational in Onalaska Jan. 3-4, 2026.
