The Green County Family YMCA Gators swim team attended the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan YMCA State meet March 21-23. The meet was hosted by the Schroeder Swim Team in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. The Gators were represented by 23 swimmers, 13 with individual qualifying times in 43 events and six relay teams swimming eight events.

Over the three day event the team had a strong showing with 48 personal best swims out of 68 total entries earning a combined team score of 445 points and placing 14th out of the 19 teams. The Gators placed in the top 10 in 27 events and out of those 21 events earned awards in the top 8th places.

The high point earners for the state team were Sadie Wellman(8) with a total of 59 points, Barrett Berg(13) with 58 points, Everett Ramirez(9) with 52 points, Harlan Gasaway (8) with 28 points and Olivia Hustad(10) with 27 points. Other earners for the team included Mila Daniels(7) with 24 points, Avery Mansfield(9) with 18 points, Stella Rolli(12) with 17 points, Olive Akins(10) with 11 points, Lauren Kosmosky(12) 10 points, Kinsley Huffman (10) 10 points, Georgia Christen(12), 8 points, Scarlett Hammon(10) 7 points, Korali Zilliox(8) 5 points, Mira Gasaway(5) 5 points, Maggie Donohue(14) 4 points, Anneliese Ramirez(13) 1 point, Espn Martin(8) 1 point.

The Girls 8 and Under 100 Medley took 9th place and 100 Freestyle Relay took 8th place. Swimmers included Espn Martin(8), Mila Daniles(7), Korali Zilliox(8) and Sadie Wellman(8). The Girls 9-10 200 Medley Relay took 5th place and included Olivia Hustad(10) swimming backstroke, Olive Akins(10) swimming breaststroke, Finnley Daniels(10) swimming butterfly and Kinsley Huffman(10) swimming freestyle. The Girls 9-10 200 Freestyle relay took 8th place and included Olivia Hustad(10), Avery Mansfield(9), Scarlett Hammon(10) and Kinsely Huffman(10). The Girls 11-12 200 Medley Relay placed 16th and was swam by Charlotte Stussey(12) swimming backstroke, Stella Rolli(12) swimming breaststroke, Lauren Kosmosky(12) swimming butterfly and Georgia Christen(12) swimming freestyle.  The Girls 11-12 200 Freestyle Relay also placed 16th and included Stella Rollie(12), Sadie Deal(11), Georgia Christen(12) and Lauren Kosmosky(12). Both Girls 13-14 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relays placed 12th and was swam by Brynleigh Wellman(13), Ara Schmidt(14), Maggie Donohue(13) and Anneliese Ramirez(13).

Gators will start their spring and summer season on April 20 and swim through the end of July with meets at Elkhorn Penguins and Lake Geneva Ducks in early May. For full meet schedule visit the Gators team page at gcygators.com.
