The Green County Family YMCA Gators swim team finished their regular season with a Conference Championship meet at Lake Geneva and a home dual meet vs. Dane County YMCA United. Gators had 18 swimmers attend the Conference meet hosted by the Lake Geneva Ducks on February 8. The Gators earned 125 combined points with 15 personal best times.
On Feb. 14 the Gators hosted their last regular meet of the season against Dane County YMCA United. Gators scored 2029 combined points with 33 first place finishes, 19 second place finishes and 15 third place finishes with 31 personal best swims.
The Gators will be attending the sectional meet hosted by La Crosse Wave in Onalaska on March 14-15. The sectional meet is the last opportunity for swimmers to swim a state qualifying time for the Wisconsin YMCA State Championship Meet on March 20-22. The Wisconsin YMCA State Championship Meet is hosted by the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer and will be streamed live on YouTube.
The Gators will be represented by 23 swimmers at the state with 11 of them having already swam state qualifying times in 38 events. The Gators also have eight relay teams competing in the three day championship meet. The state team will consist of Olive Akins (10) with a qualifying time in the 50Y Breast. Barrett Berg (13) with qualifying times in the 50Y Free, 100Y Free, 200Y Free and the 500Y Free. Mila Daniels (7) with qualifying times in the 25Y Free, 25Y Back, 25Y Breast, 25Y Fly and 50Y Breast. Harlan Gasaway (8) with times in the 25Y Breast, 25Y Back and 25Y Free. Mira Gasaway (5) with qualifying times in the 25Y Free, 25Y Breast and 25Y Back. Kinsely Huffman (10) in the 50 Free. Olivia Hustad (10) in the 50 Back. Espn Martin (8) with qualifying times in the 25Y Free, 25Y Breast, 25Y Back. Everett Ramirez (9) in the 50Y Free, 100Y Free, 50Y Back, the 100Y IM, 50YBreast, 50Y Fly, 100Y Breast and the 200Y Free. Sadie Wellman (8) in the 25Y Back, 50Y Back, 25Y Breast, 25Y Free, 50Y Free, and the 50Y Breast. Korali Zilliox (8) in the 25Y Free and the 25Y Breast. Relay members include Georgia Christen (12), Finnley Daniels (10), Sadie Deal (11), Maggie Donohue (13), Scarlett Hammon (10), Lauren Kosmosky (12), Avery Mansfield (9), Anneliese Ramirez (13), Stella Rolli (12), Ara Schmidt (14), Charlotte Stuessy (12), and Brynleigh Wellman (13).
