BROWN DEER — The Gators swam a fantastic weekend at the 2025 YMCA State swim meet March 21st - 23rd in Brown Deer, WI at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center. The Gators took 14th place out of 19 teams overall, the boys team took 16th place with only 4 swimmers and the girls took 13th place with only taking 20 swimmers to the meet. The team only had 2 DQs at the meet. The team entered in 61 individual events and out of those events we placed with points, medals and trophies in 31 events. All events were timed finals. Each swimmer was allowed to swim no more than 5 individual events and 5 relays for a total of 10 events, even if they qualified for more individual events. For the swimmers with 1 state qualifying time they were allowed 2 bonus swims, if they had two state qualifications they were allowed 1 bonus swims and if the swimmer was a relay swimmer without a qualifying individual state time they were allowed 2 bonus swims. The Gators kept dominating and set 47 new PRs. Trophies were given to 1st - 3rd place and medals for 4th - 8th place. As a whole the team took 4 - 1st place trophies, 4- 2nd place trophies, 3 - 3rd place trophies, 5 - 4th place medals, 3 - 5th place medals, 4 - 6th place medals, 2 - 7th place medals and 6 - 8th place medals home. The Gators 8 & Under Medley Relay took 6th place and took 5th in the 100 Free Relay.

The Gator top 4 point earners at State were Wren Hartley (8) with 76 pts, Barrett Berg (12) with 74 points, Gunnison Hartley (12) with 61.5 points and Everett Ramirez (8) with 50 pts. Wren took 1st in Girls 8&U 100Y IM with 1:30.45, 1st in Girls 8&U 50Y Back with 42.56, 2nd in Girls 8YO 25Y Fly with 19.13, 4th in Girls 8&U 100Y Free with 1:24.45 and 5th in Girls 8YO 50Y Breast with 50.20. Barrett took 1st in Boys 11-12 500Y Free with 5:41.45, 1st in Boys 11-12 50Y Free with 25.22, 2nd in Boys 11-12 200Y Free with 2:05.47, 3rd in Boys 11-12 100Y Free with 56.54 and 8th in Boys 11-12 50Y Breast with 37.91. Gunnison took 2nd in Boys 11-12 500Y Free with 5:42.28, 3rd in Boys 11-12 200Y Free with 2:13.41, 4th Boys 11-12 100Y Fly with 1:16.52, 6th in Boys 11-12 100Y Free with 1:00.72 and 8th in Boys 11-12 50Y Fly with 33.31. Everett took 4th in Boys 8&U 100Y Free with 1:18.09, 6th in Boys 8YO 50Y Breast with 53.58, 7th in Boys 8YO 25Y Breast with 23.93, 7th in Boys 8YO 50Y Free with 34.86 and 11th in Boys 8YO 25Y Free with 16.75.

The Gators should be proud of all they have accomplished as a team and individuals this past season. Many swimmers earned PRs every time they swam a race even if it was a week or two apart. The Gators are putting in the work and it’s showing. The team will have about a month break before the Spring/Summer season starts.
