The Green County YMCA will host a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition on Tuesday May 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Twining Park East diamond.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form before competition. Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and have the chance to advance through levels of competition including team championships at Major League ballparks and the national finals at the 2011 MLB All-Star game.
The individual pitching, hitting and running champions - along with the all-around champion in each age group at the local competition - will be awarded and advance to the sectional level of competition.
Pitch, Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. The grassroots program is designed to give children an opportunity to compete free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball and softball skills.
Anyone who has questions can contact Chad Shelton at the Green County YMCA at 325-2003 or email him at: cshelton@greencountyymca.org.
