MONROE - Super Sluggers and T-Ball are baseball programs for boys and girls ages 4-8 and will meet once a week on Thursday evenings for six weeks, beginning July 9.

The goals of the Super Sluggers and T-Ball programs are to provide youth with opporunities to make friends, learn new skills, and above all to have fun. Children will learn the baseball fundamentals, beginning skills, and teamwork through fellowship and the "Y" youth sports philosophy of equal playing time and participation. The key to the success of these programs is the help received from parents and volunteers. T-Ball is an introduction for young players to learn the fundamentals of baseball, while Super Sluggers is the next step for participants who wish to expand their baseball skills.

T-Ball will meet Thursday nights from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the fields behind the Green County YMCA. Super Sluggers will meet on the same nights from 6:45-7:45 p.m. Registration is $24 for Y-members and $54 for non-members. Bats and safe T-Balls will be used and are provided as well as a team T-Shirt. Youth need to supply their own glove. Registration runs until Monday June 29, and forms are available at the front desk at the Green County YMCA at 1307 2nd Street.
