MONROE - Nine Monroe Mat Rats competed Saturday at the Brodhead Beginners Tournament. For some wrestlers, this was their first time wrestling at a tournament. All wrestlers were in brackets by weight and grade.
Placing first were Briggs Hoesly and Kaydon Proctor. In second place were Carsen Bartholf, Patrick Harms, Abram Homb, Jacob Flom and Molly Patterson. In third place were Blaine Fletcher and Elijah Phillips. Placing fourth were Tanner Ekum-Hilliard, Beau Hoesly and Levi Johnson.
At the Belmont/Platteville Tournament Sunday, nine Monroe Mat Rats also had a successful day. Placing first was Jack Dubach, Carson Menehan, Garrett Minder and Owen Voegeli. Placing second was Chelsey Gilbert and Garret Voegeli. Coming in third place was Gage Jelle, Jaden Leistiko and Grant Ula.
